Eric is a self-taught engineer who discovered a passion for management while working for digital agencies in the Minneapolis area.
He's since helped build out the engineering team at Wirecutter as an Engineering Manager and now as Director of Product Engineering.

Leading engineering teams is hard enough when you see your team in person every day — it's even harder when all of your daily interactions are in Slack channels and Zoom calls.
In this talk, I'll share strategies and techniques that I've learned in my 2 1/2 years leading teams at Wirecutter for successfully managing engineers in a remote context.
